RBT® Competency Assessment

The RBT® Competency Assessment is required by the BACB® to become RBT® Certified and only included in the ATCC Full RBT® Certification Program. 
The RBT® Competency Assessment is the key eligibility requirement for the RBT certification. The assessment must be administered by a BACB® certificant (BCBA®) following the student's completion of the 40-hour RBT training requirement. All ATCC RBT® Competency Assessments are completed online, with contracted clients from the CARE Academy (I-CARE.org). The CARE Academy provides online ABA Services to children all over the world. All ATCC students are required to enter a contractual relationship with the CARE Academy by signing a contractual agreement and participating in an unpaid internship to provide volunteer ABA services to CARE Academy clients (I-CARE.org). 

Did you know? The BACB® requires that the BCBA® supervisor, "responsible assessor, assistant assessor(s), and RBT applicant must be employed at (or all have a contractual relationship with) the same organization. That organization must also be the entity providing services to the client involved in the assessment. This relationship requirement applies to the entire assessment and not just the portions involving clients. These relationship expectations are currently in place but will be enforced for all RBT certification applications submitted on or after January 1, 2025.“
